LIS- Health Information Locator
LIS – Health Information Locator is a catalog of relevant health sites, selected according to quality criteria. The content is constituted by metadata that describes information sources available in the internet, pointing to the hypertext links. LIS applies a methodology based on the Dublin Core and GILS formats (Global Information Locator Service).
DeCS- Health Terminology
DeCS – Health Sciences Descriptors is the trilingual vocabulary (English, Portuguese and Spanish) that represents the standard terminology used for both indexing and navigating the VHL information sources. The compatibility with the MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) terminology from NLM (National Library of Medicine) and the commitment with constant updating and translation to Portuguese and Spanish allowed the effective cooperation with the UMLS (Unified Medical Language System, NLM) project in the last years. The DeCS also contains the terminology of areas such as Public Health, Homeopathy, Science and Health, and Health Surveillance.

BBO - Brazilian Bibliography in Odontology
BBO is a database of national literature in Odontology, edited since 1996, under the responsibility of the Odontology Documentation Service of Universidade de São Paulo. Contains books, thesis and periodicals, in addition to papers published by national authors in foreign and non-specialized journals. In cooperation with the System of Specialized Information in Odontology (SSIO), it gathers since 1991 the national scientific production in this area and is available in the online format and in CD-ROM.
A database specialized in nursing, developed by the J. Baeta Vianna Library, from the Health Campus/Federal University of Minas Gerais. Created in 1988 as an initiative to facilitate the diffusion and access to publications in this area of knowledge, usually absent in national and international literature. It has been developed with the support of the UFMG Nursing School Development Project and BIREME, under the commitment of feeding the LILACS Database. Includes bibliographic reference and summaries of conventional and unconventional documents, such as books, manuals, leaflets etc. It Is nowadays maintained by a Brazilian Sub-network of Information in Nursing, which is coordinated by the J. Baeta Vianna Library, and makes up for the lack of Brazilian Literature in Nursing including also retrospective documents.

HOMEOINDEX – Brazilian Literature in Homeopathy
Bibliographic database with national and international scientific and technical literature in Homeopathy. Created by BIREME and the Sao Paulo Homeopathy Association, uses the LILACS methodology to organize, index, control and display literature in homeopathy. Contains more than 7000 articles, published in significant homeopathy journals.

LILACS - Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences
Latin American and Caribbean Literature on the Health Sciences is a BIREME System's cooperative database which covers literature related to the health sciences and has been published in countries of the Region since 1982. It contains articles from about 670 of the most well-known journals in the medicine field, reaching approximately more than 150,000 records and other documents, such as: theses, chapters of theses, books, chapters of books, congress and conference proceedings, technical and scientific reports and governmental publications.
MEDLINE - International Database for Medical Literature
Database on international literature, produced by the National Library of Medicine - NLM, which gathers bibliographic references and summaries of more than 4000 biomedical journals published in the United States and in other 70 countries. There are approximately 11 million records on biomedical literature since 1966 which cover medicine, nursing, odontology, veterinary and preclinical sciences. Updating is done on a monthly basis. MEDLINE is divided into sections by date.
SciELO - Scientific Electronic Library Online
SciELO - Scientific Electronic Library Online is a model for cooperative electronic publishing of scientific journals on the Internet. Especially conceived to meet the scientific communication needs of developing countries, particularly Latin America and the Caribbean countries, it provides an efficient way to assure universal visibility and accessibility to their scientific literature, contributing to overcome the phenomena known as "lost science".

LEYES is a database on Latin American and Caribbean Basic Health Legislation, coordinated by the Health Policies and Systems Development Unit (HSS/HP/PAHO) and BIREME. It contains bibliographic references from current legislation on health in more than thirty countries of Latin America and Caribbean, sometimes containing the full text or giving access to it.
